Ongoing Project:
MARTA CZOK AWARD
In memory of Marta Czok (1947-2025), the Marta Czok Foundation wishes to establish, starting in 2026, a new award dedicated to young artists whose lives are reflected in the experience of migration, itself a fundamental part of Marta's life – born in Beirut to Polish refugees who, at the end of the Second World War, found political asylum in London, where she lived until the seventies, before landing in Italy.

The Marta Czok Award thus aims to reflect on the meaning of migration for those who have directly experienced the need to move between countries and face the necessity to recreate not only a home, but also an environment in which to develop their artistic process.

The Marta Czok Award will be open to artists under 35 years of age in the fields of painting, sculpture, digital and interdisciplinary arts, with a particular focus on those who:

-
have directly experienced the migration experience
-
come from geo-political contexts that have been impacted by war events
-
are located at the cusp between cultural identities
-

The prize will include a solo exhibition at the Foundation's Venice headquarters and a financial contribution for the artist. The Foundation's Committee, together with judges invited by international institutions in the sector, will have the task of selecting the artist with an open call according to these criteria, together with the talent and originality that the artist demonstrates.
It is our wish that this will be a two-year initiative and we need your help to carry it forward. To donate to this initiative by bank transfer, indicate "Reference: Marta Czok Award" on the following link
